Fighting Fatigue? Pick Peppermint
It’s no coincidence that peppermint scents are most commonly used in shampoos and body washes. Not only does this scent leave you feeling fresh and clean, it’s also invigorating! In one study done by the University of Chinese Medicine, researchers found that inhalation of peppermint and rosemary essential oils helped mice fight fatigue. The researchers put mice through rigorous swimming exercises meant to induce fatigue.
They then divided the mice into three groups that were each nebulized with a different distilled water mixture. The control group was nebulized with pure water; the essential oil mixture group was nebulized with a combination of peppermint, rosemary, and orange essential oils; and the peppermint group was nebulized with peppermint essential oil.
Their study found that in the mixture group of mice, the peppermint and rosemary essential oil mixture “powerfully relieved exercise-induced fatigue.” When you’re looking to put pep back in your step, we recommend reaching for our Focus Wax Melts, which include a mixture of peppermint and rosemary essential oils.
